Accepting New Clients
I provide therapy for teens and therapy for pre-teens who have experienced struggles at school or at home. Oftentimes bullying, isolation, or learning difficulties show up in other ways – including behavioural issues at home, non-communication with parents, withdrawal from activities, or a dislike or refusal to go to school. In my work with teens, I have found that the issues that are affecting your teen’s life can show up as feelings of sadness, loneliness, detachment, or confusion. This can be hard on both you as the parent and your child.
The most important part of therapy for teens or therapy for preteens is the work that we do to build trust. It’s important for them to have a space where they feel like they can explain the complex emotions they are feeling without feeling judged.
I have over 20 years of experience providing counselling for teens, preteens, and families. I love seeing their transformation through the use of tools and talk therapy. I draw from evidence based techniques to help teens gain the skills and resources they need. I support teens with anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and communication challenges with their parents.
I understand how hard it can be to find the right therapist for your teen. When we get started, I meet with the parent(s) first for a session, then I connect with your teen. Once we start working together, their sessions become confidential and part of the trust building process between your child and myself.
