So often illegal activities such as human trafficking results in thousands of people being brought the United States. Human trafficking can be defined as the coercion of women, men, and children for the purposes of forced labor and/or commercial sex. The T visa provides victims of human trafficking immigration protection, allowing them to remain in the United States to assist law enforcement investigation. Human trafficking is often compared to modern day slavery. Victims are often given false promises of work and a better quality of life. Victims are often exposed to a multitude of additional traumas (witnessed and experienced).
